It's been a journey I never could have imagined. Born from a love for baking, here's a little about how CAKE came to be.
2015
The beginning
CAKE by Hannah Jones began in 2015 as a hobby. I was working in retail at the time, spending my days off experimenting in the kitchen - teaching myself new techniques and making cakes for friends and family.
What started as a creative outlet quickly became a passion, and before long word had spread and orders were steadily growing year on year.
2015-2021
Career and Cake
I'd built a career that I was proud of, working across London, Manchester, York and Chester - but for several years I was balancing a full-time job alongside a cake business that was becoming increasingly hard to keep up with.
My cakes kept improving and the demand kept growing - becoming impossible to ignore.
2022
The leap of faith
In 2022, I took the leap of faith and made the decision to leave my career behind and open the doors to CAKE by Hannah Jones. It was terrifying and exciting in equal measure - but I knew it was the right time.
Since opening, CAKE has grown into a thriving bakery, creating hundreds of celebration cakes each year alongside an ever-changing range of treats and seasonal bakes.
December 2022Featured in British Vogue.
In December 2022, our Christmas Mini Cake was featured in British Vogue - a milestone that still takes my breath away.
2026
Where we are today
The business looks very different to those early days of baking from home - but the values are exactly the same. Exceptional quality, attention to every detail, and helping people celebrate life's special moments.
I'm so grateful for every single customer who has supported CAKE, and so excited to see what the future holds.
